Terms of Use

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you — as a person, or on behalf of a business ("you" or "your") — and Techwara LLP ("Techwara", "we", "us" or "our"), an Indian limited liability partnership based in Belagavi, Karnataka, which runs Rentlyf.

By using rentlyf.com, joining the waitlist, creating an account, or subscribing to Rentlyf, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Rentlyf.

2. What Rentlyf provides

Rentlyf is software for paying-guest (PG) businesses in India and the people who live in them:

  • for property owners and their staff — apps to manage properties, rooms and beds, tenants and their stays, rent records, move-outs, staff access and listings;
  • for tenants — an app to see their stay, their rent and their records, and to raise requests with their PG;
  • for people looking for a PG — rentlyf.com, where listings show beds that are actually available, and where you can contact a property's owner.

Rentlyf is not a broker, an agent or a landlord. We do not own, rent out, inspect or manage any property, and we are not a party to any stay. A stay is agreed directly between a tenant and the property's owner. Rent and deposits are paid to the owner, never to Rentlyf.

3. Before Rentlyf launches

Until Rentlyf launches, rentlyf.com tells you about the product and lets you join its waitlist, as a property owner or as someone looking for a PG.

  • Joining is free, and does not commit you to anything.
  • Joining does not guarantee you access, or a launch date in your city.
  • We may call you on the number you give us when Rentlyf launches for you, and for nothing else. You can ask us to remove your details at any time.

4. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law. If you use Rentlyf for a business, you confirm that you are allowed to act for it.

When accounts open, you sign in with your mobile number, your email address, Google or Apple. You agree to:

  • give us accurate details, and keep them up to date;
  • keep access to your account to yourself, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used it;
  • hold one account, as one person.

You are responsible for what happens under your account.

5. Your responsibilities

A. If you are looking for a PG

  • Visit the property and agree the terms with its owner before paying anything. Rentlyf takes no payment for a stay and cannot refund one.
  • Send enquiries only about places you are interested in, with true details.

B. If you run a PG business on Rentlyf

  • You own each property you add, or are allowed to rent it out and to list it.
  • Everything in your listings is true and up to date, and the photos are of that property.
  • You have the right to record the details you enter about your tenants and staff — including identity documents — and you have their agreement, or their guardian's for a tenant under 18, where the law requires it.
  • You use the contact details of people who enquire only to answer their enquiry.
  • You follow the laws that apply to running your PG.

C. If you are a member of staff

You act only within the access the business has given you, and only for that business.

6. Things you must not do

  • Post false, misleading or offensive listings, or pretend to be someone else.
  • Copy listings or data from Rentlyf by automated means, or send more requests than a person reasonably would.
  • Try to get around our security, reach data that is not yours, or disrupt the service.
  • Use contact details you get through Rentlyf to send spam, or to harass anyone.
  • Use Rentlyf for anything unlawful.

Anyone can report a listing that seems misleading, fraudulent or offensive. We review every report, and may remove a listing or suspend an account that breaks these Terms.

7. Your data and our intellectual property

  • A business's records — its properties, rooms, beds, stays and rent records — belong to that business. We use them only to provide Rentlyf to it.
  • A tenant's stay and payment history is the tenant's own record, and it stays on Rentlyf even if the property's owner stops using Rentlyf.
  • Listings: the text and photos of a listing stay the owner's. The owner allows us to show them on Rentlyf for as long as the listing is published.
  • Rentlyf itself: the Rentlyf name, logo, website, apps and software belong to Techwara LLP. You may not copy, sell or reuse them, or try to take the software apart, without our written permission.

8. Subscriptions and payments

Rentlyf charges property owners a subscription; there are no listing fees and no brokerage, and tenants pay Rentlyf nothing. A subscription is paid per bed, before the bed is used. How it is billed, cancelled and refunded will be published on this site before Rentlyf takes its first payment.

  • Taxes: every invoice is a GST tax invoice, or a Bill of Supply where no GST applies.
  • Unpaid invoices: if a month's invoice is still unpaid the day after it is due, the subscription stops. You and your staff can still see everything, but nothing can be changed until you pay. Your tenants keep seeing their own records.
  • Your data is kept while a subscription is stopped, and everything works again as soon as you pay.

9. Suspending or ending your use

You can stop using Rentlyf at any time, cancel your subscription, or ask us to delete your account.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or if the law requires it. A suspended business stops completely: its owner and staff can neither see nor change its data until the suspension is lifted, while its tenants keep seeing their own records. Where we can, we will tell you why.

10. Service availability

We work to keep Rentlyf available and accurate, and to fix faults quickly, but we provide it "as is". We cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that a listing is accurate — each owner is responsible for their own listings.

11. Confidentiality

We keep the data you put into Rentlyf confidential and use it only as our Privacy Policy describes. If you are an owner or a member of staff, you keep your tenants' details confidential in the same way, and use them only to run your PG.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent Indian law allows, Techwara LLP and its partners, staff and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss — including lost profits, lost data or business interruption — or for any loss that comes from a stay agreed with an owner, from what a listing says, or from an outage of a third-party service.

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid Rentlyf in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000 if you paid us nothing.

Nothing in these Terms limits a right that Indian law gives you and does not allow to be limited.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will post every change on this page and update the date at the top; if a change is significant, we will tell you before it takes effect. If you keep using Rentlyf after that, the new Terms apply.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute cannot be settled by talking to us first, it will be decided only by the competent courts at Belgaum (Belagavi), Karnataka, India.
